Hello,

So I've been reading more in regards to the SMS varieties between 1964-1967.

PCGS- had an example fairly similar

Figured, I'd get y'all input on this coin.

Thanks,

Gula

I'm not seeing it - just a slight Misaligned die on the obverse!
Rest in Peace

Gula , why do you think this is a 1965 SMS coin ? Trust me ,when this coin left the Mint in 1965 it was a nice strong business strike ,Blazing red . Not a SMS Lincoln .

Remember the 1965-1967 cents had SMS, that were proof coins, but ones for collectors. They are fairly common. Not to be on the same level as the 1964 SMS coins. These are the rare ones. (Possibly less than 100 struck) You can see that on 1964 SMS that they were struck with fresh dies and they are all EDS coins. The others 1965-1967 SMS were created for collectors. (In the range of 2 million per year 1967 had the smallest number)

Also note that 65-67 were also regular business strikes as well as some being in SMS ,which were virtually proofs .
