Saw this in another thread and thought it was a good idea. Just bought this dollar for my collection, what do you think PCGS graded it? On the reverse, the smudge/mark on the eagle's right wing / breast is on the case, not on the coin. So the design is just the same on both wings, no loss of design really. Also, what would you pay for it? :P

MS-65? Can't tell if there are smudges on the holder that are obscuring marks.

Really nice strike by the looks of it, tad low on luster so would say MS64. Have had similar looking coins grade MS63-MS64.

I'd be at 65. The obverse pulls the reverse up to that grade, I believe.

Thanks for the replies. PCGS graded it MS63.
Its actually very shiny, when you reflect it in the light. Due to my poor camera skills, its shown up as a bit dull. Still waiting on my new camera and lens setup :D Then I should get some amazing photos.
I paid $56 for it in total. It's not a rare coin, with a mintage of over 9.7 million pieces, but I am happy with it.

I think you paid a little too much. I sold a similar common date graded 63 for $40.

MS65. Great if you paid 63 money for it.  Looks undergraded under old standards based on old holder. Congrats.
