Called Die Deterioration, that inside rim forming, loss of last digit in date, stretching of outside lettering, are all symptoms of need for new dies.

Yes, it should be worth one cent.

It's a regular business strike with a little Die Deterioration that should be spent not sold as an error or variety

Fine to keep as an example, but the problem is too commonly found to be considered of any value, over the one cent.

BKK - your fellow enthusiasts put in a link that highlights your coin in hand. What you have is an RPM: repositioned mintmark. Since the mintmark is added to the coining die by hand, if the mint mark is re-struck slightly off center of the original strike it creates a doubled image. There are specimens with multiple re-strikes, so these varieties are collectable.

BKK - I think you'd be better off if you bumped your other thread and asked for more clarification there.

no one responded to that thread for 4 hours or so. Since everyone was responding to how this coin is common like a 90's baseball card I was hoping for clarification on my other thread while the stings were freshly swollen. That one I was more solid on but help just wasnt there. Remember I dont have knowledge ...I'm learning it on the fly as I sort through 10,000 plus pennies from 1910-2010. Its a bit overwhelming but I'm trying to be a community member by what is taught.

Quote: o one responded to that thread for 4 hours or so. Four hours isn't all that long -- especially on Super Bowl Sunday. Keep asking -- I learn a lot from looking at these threads.

BKK, no one was ignoring you. Rather, you were ignoring the last response there. That individual linked you to a complete listing of the repunched mint marks for that year and mint. I believe the implication was for you to compare yours to those, then be able to identify the variety and find a nice listing to write on the 2x2. (I'm more familiar with their DDO and DDR listings, but I believe the coppercoins designation for mint mark would be something like 199xx-D-MM-0x.) That site is really fantastic for cent CRH.

What am I missing here? The photos are of a P mint cent not a D or a S. A P mint can't be an RPM. John1
