At first grading can be overwhelming, if you have an iPhone you should check out PCGS's photograde app. There are also a couple other apps they created that are very helpful. I also recommend getting a RedBook. In these you'll find most of the information you'll need about values, mintages, basic errors, etc.

Jason! I have learned a ton here in a relatively short time. Many incredibly knowledgeable folks, and a friendly atmosphere. ~ Mark

to the family, boy the coin collecting bug bit you real quick! Yes here you'll learn a bunch, adjust your seatbelt! The threads are always informative, sometimes funny, most often seeing some new coin/error/type you'll want to look for or collect. Utilize the references here, the tutorials and glossary are a great starting place. Get some resource books on areas of peak interest, maybe the Mercs, or Lincolns for starters? Happy hunting!
