Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between a 1965 type 1 and type 2 designation from anacs? I bought a ms 60 broad strike error quarter on ebay in an older anacs holder and can not find any info on it at all. Any help is appreciated. Rob

Well it's jammed in there pretty tight and I don't want to bust it out since it could be worth some money based on how little
Info I found on it.

DON'T BUST IT OUT!

I think Crazy0 suggested you check the edge because you can see the edge of most slabbed coins. Can you link to the ebay listing? Maybe there's more info there.

I wouldn't ever bust out a slab if if I think it deserved a regrade. I'm not new to coins just this site. But yes he listing was pretty vague which is why I think a lot of people didn't bid.

Type 1 plan is an old term, meaning no upset rim. Now it's called a blank and one with a rim is now called a planchet.

So is that normal or unusual for that year and that error?

to the forum!

Cujohn is right about it being a blank with no rim.

The serial number checks out: http://www.anacs.com/Populations/Ce...ication.aspx

It looks like you got a pretty good deal. These errors usually sell for around $100.00 at Heritage Auctions.

Nice coin!
