Hey there... So, I am working away on my State Quarter collection. I am using a DANSCO album for creating a full "P" and "D" Uncirculated set, which looks great (although I do find the Dansco albums collect a lot of "lint" when I go to put the coins in. I am using a air bulb I use for cleaning my cameras to try to clean off the lint first). And I am also collecting the "Proof Sets" that have 5 quarters in the "frosty cases" for each year. I was starting out by just putting the mint sets in Whitman 2x3 storage box, but honestly, its just not a great way to "show" a collection to the kids and (one day) grandkids. Just a bunch of blue boxes sitting inside another bigger blue box. And then you have to open each box up to even "looK" at the coins. Sort of a let-down and not very friendly to be able to easily 'share the hobby' with others. So, I think I would rather find a way to display the State Quarter proof sets in some sort of nice album, but still keep them sealed-up in their proof cases. So, I looked at what Dansco had to offer, and the only thing I found was a "Mint Set Page #7092", which is a Dansco page that holds 2 "Mint Sets". But at $5.75 a page, this could get expensive quickly. And I still need to get an Blank Dansco Album to store those pages (ka-ching!). So, what I was thinking of doing is just storing the mint set boxes and COAs in an inexpensive 2x3 storage box (I can find a cardboard one on WizardCoinSupply that holds 24 proof boxes for $5!). That way, I will "save" the mint boxes and COAs that came with the proof sets, but can just put them up in the attic! So, now I just need a "nice way" to store and display my Proof Sets. Is there a good folder system and page system that works well for proof sets? Maybe some sort of 3-ring binder with pages you can get that hold a frosty 2x3 case nice and sound, but not break the bank? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, including names and model numbers to look for. Thanks as always! Michael *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I, for one, am against dispalys. I've learned the hard & costly way.. If you have to, make sure it's small enough to put away somewhere safe

Thanks for the idea, but I looked at the Pinnacle Coin site, but didn't find any pages that would hold the "frosty" mint cases...
And I am not worried about "security". I have a home safe where I will store all my coin albums (along with other home valuables).
Regards,
Michael

When you say "Frosty" do you mean the plastic lens they come in or the after market "Frosty" holders. What are the measurements of the cases you are using? Here is examples of what I use.

Sorry if I am not using the correct terminology here.. I'm still a "Newbie" (actually an "oldie" getting back into the hobby!). I mean the plastic proof cases that hold 5 of the state coins. I am attaching a photo that shows what they are stored in. This is what I want a way to hold/display in some sort of album: Some sort of "page" I can insert these into an album. Was thinking there must be a "plastic sleeve" that someone makes that I can put into a 3-ring binder. My guess is that you can probably hold 2 of these "per page", and it will be nice since you can see both sides and just flip through the pages. Would be best if the page was a bit "stiff" so they don't bang around too much, but I guess the coins are already very well protected inside their cases". Thanks! Michael

I understand the original proof set lens, do look a lot like the old frosty cases. Wizard does sell frosty cases too. I have not seen any pages just for hard plastic lens/holder. I am thinking that after 3 or four pages, it would be a very thick binder. I don't have any, but seems like Eagle .. and maybe Coin World has pages for slabbed coins. Maybe they have something for modern proof holders.

Bookbound binder is brown sort of clothlike 3 ring binder, regular one is black vinyl 3 ring binder, or you can just buy the pages and use any binder. Somewhere on here I put pictures of my album which you can see better. I'll try to find them and link them.

All, I just got the Eagle State Quarter Proof Album in the mail. Looks pretty nice, and holds the proof sets very securely. There is a plastic "strap" that you slide the proof album underneath, and then it sort of "snaps" into a recessed holder. You can get 4 proof albums on a page, and it shows the front and back of the proof albums perfectly. And there are in there nice and tight - they don't flop around or slide at all. I will try to take some photos when I have a chance. Only thing is that I wish they had some nice "writing" on the front of the album - it's just a pure plain brown album. Maybe I can look to get some nice labels made for it. Michael
