Boy, what a library you have coop, amazing. Coop, you posted the other day a pix showing differences between a MD and true doubling, wish I could remember the link to show here.

Here you go Silverfranlin, my favorite pic that Coop made. Machine Doubled = If you subtract the "doubled" portion, what's left of the devices is reduced in size. Normal = When in doubt what the normal size of a device is, you can usually compare with another coin of the same year and mint. Hub Doubled (Doubled Die) = When you add the doubled portion, the device is increased in size.

I went back and zoomed in and took a little more clear image. It has the same overlapping and notching on the corners of letters with sharp edges. As I am no professional and here to learn as well, however I do know the proof finish is different than a business strike. That is what mine was compared to. I don't disagree with to some degree of MD, but how do you account for the same notching. Perhaps this new image is much more clearer so that detail can be seen. If need be I will take more photo's but this time transfer them thru HDMI to my 70 inch flatscreen, besides off a 5 inch screen. If you compare the notching of mine to the image's you posted, besides the proof finish they are alike. I will post the photo from the big screen soon, this way you all will see the big difference in clarity. Even if it is a MD, it is the closest DD/MD coin I've ever seen.

This is an old thread 2017. So I doubt the original poster is present? I wondered why I posted Franklins, but the posters name had something to do with SilverFranklin.

Nice to know for me. I just look at two sets proof 1956 and want to send for certification. Some one wanted but only certified (another slab fun off). which is most keeper? I find the both variety.
