What do you guys think? Good pickup? I'm somewhat new to errors so I'm trying to get different types so I know how to identify them and learn the pricing.

I'll get better pictures when I get home. The quarter and the nickel are for sure uncirculated. Not sure about the pennys

It will definitely help to get obverse and reverse pictures of all of the coins. A clipped planchet is easily faked, but I think I may see some Blakesley effect opposite the main clip, which would make it legitimate. I'm not sure about the 1959 nickel -- it just looks dirty or tarnished to me. The sintered nickels should have a visible layer of copper on them. http://www.error-ref.com/improper-annealing/

Admittedly I have found a couple that this forum told me were "Black Beauties" a.k.s. "sintered." However, there is no copper layer.

I noticed at the end of the article it says:

Quote:
This will result in the type of phenomenon shown in the photos, where a distinct layer of material forms on the blank surface (primarily copper, with a high degree of oxidation), which is quite brittle, and will break off in pieces. This will expose the original blank surface, which would also be oxidized, but closer in color to the original alloy. We have seen these types of blanks but only infrequently.

From this I don't see where it says the copper has to be present. Please educate me if I am wrong.
