Hello all,

The pictures don't really show but the brown color of the coin extends to the rims as well

Is this dime truly missing it's clad layer? I've tried lightly brushing the coin to see if the brown color was from dirt but I was unsuccessful, so to me it looks like this is a slightly circulated dime missing a clad layer.

Am I correct to assume this?
If so any ideas on grade or value?

More than likely environmental damage. See these in Dimes that have been in the dirt for years.

I agree. The is an outdoor find. Any hind of silver on the higher areas show where the color wore off. It it were a missing clad, this would not happen as the copper planchet is there, not the silver cladding. (note 3:00 on the reverse)

Good to know, I didn't really notice the small spots where the silver is showing through.

Thanks for the info!
