That TCNC coin does not look like High, Far 9 - that looks like the "medium-high 9".... certainly not worth that kind of money. Compare it with the other coins in this thread. I would be curious to know who provided "the expert verification"...

"A very impressive price paid for this High 9 coin over the weekend......" that's a deal. I sold a MS60 for $750 on ebay a few months ago. Still holding onto my MS62. How's your PCGS MS65 doing? ;)

It's doing just fine!!
I sold a couple or three of these in MS60 to 62 some years back at maybe a third to half these kinds of prices. This variety seems to be doing very well. It is proving to be a pretty scarce one.
The sleeper small cent variety in my opinion is the 48 ATSD. There are very, very few of these around in MS. I think it is quite a bit scarcer than the 49 ATD.

I agree with Roger, the TCNC coin shown is not a high 9 Maybe the expert was high himself
