Sorry no pictures. It looks every bit like cent except that it weighs 2.00 grams and not the normal 2.35. The coin is attracted to a magnet. Probably a foreign planchet, but do not know which country. Thanks in advance for any info.

I think we will need pictures. For the time being, you can look up foreign coins that the RCM minted for other countries in 2008 or around that time. I don't have the link at hand but hopefully someone can provide it

Thanks johnny. I checked all the countries and the only one that appears to be a match is a 5 centimos coined for Venezuela. They weighed exactly 2.0 grams like this 2008 cent of mine.

Highly unlikely that it is a Venezuelan 5 centimos planchet, as they were struck in 2009 and your penny was stuck using 2008 dies.

Can you measure the diameter?

Like mentioned before, a photo would help...

The mint also struck Venezuelan 5 centimos in 2007. Maybe a planchet was left from that. The diameter is 18mm.

Yes, that one looks like the likely answer.. The Venezuela coin (2g, copper cad steel) was supposed to be 17mm but it would become larger in the cent collar.
