I have always used Dansco and love them. I originally chose them because that was what the dealer had! I do not think one is really much better than the other (others will disagree). IMHO, the choice comes down to Whitman blue or Dansco brown! The Whitman do have the thumb slots for easy removal of the slides though.

IMHO, either album is better than the folders for the long haul. Folders do not allow you to see both sides of the coin. You might have a hard time putting the coins in the slots and be tempted to use your thumb! They are great for starting out; I used them for about five years before switching to albums. If you are collecting from circulation, starting with folders is not a bad choice; you can always move to albums later (like I did).

I agree with jbuck. Stay away from folders.

The only problem I've had with Whitman albums is that they don't sell slipcases for them. If you don't use slipcases then it's up to you.

I say make your own album! 2x2s and some coinpages and you're set to go. No rules, put in or omit whatever you want!
