How accurate is this magazine? I have been using it as a baseline for when I go to shows and e-bay, I just wonder how close it is. I just made a purchase and I wonder if I got as good a deal as I think.

I personally like that price guide the most although I can't really testify as to how accurate their prices are. The magazine is published monthly and they update their prices online weekly (if you subscribe to the magazine, you can access the values online).

Coin World's "Coin Values" tends to run pretty high. You should be able to find coins for less. In the old days Coin World's price guide was known as "Trends" and was much more accurate.

I like Krause's "Coin Prices" magazine and NumisMedia's online "Fair Market Value" for reasonable retail values. A link to the latter is below.

I think Coin World & Numi News prices are about 20-25% higher than Grey Sheet bid.

Since Coin World and Numis News are retail price guides, and Grey Sheet is a wholesale price guide, the 20-25% difference makes sense.

I like coin Values because it comes out monthly or whatever it keeps up with things like when silver took was reflected in Bullion prices and such. But I know it is much higher than greysheet and other guides I use it like this I am not the greatest grader in the world so I usually take what grade I think it is Say EF. I look up The VF value of the coin and subtract about 5% That is where I would like to buy it. Doesn't really work on high priced items that way. Short answer usual 15-25% above greysheet not always. They get their numbers form seperate places and thats why there's a discrepancy.
