You're on the right track looking for errors and varieties.
The narrowing of the devices and the flat, shelf like secondary doubling are sure signs of Mechanical Doubling.

Remember you find a lot of coins from 1968-1972 with the MD. The last image looks a lot like your coin:

Looks like the smaller doubling is MD and the larger spread doubling is Die Deterioration Doubling ( DDD)

I'm thinking you have a combination of die deterriation doubling and Machine Doubling going on.

Always a pleasure to find a one of a kind coin....the only problem is how to determine their value...not to sell it but its always good to know the value

its worth what is says on the reverse,one cent. There aren't any premiums associated with Machine Doubling really.
