If a modern cent got that much wear, you would see a lot of zinc (in theory). In practice, once the copper plating gets breached the zinc begins to corrode ("rot"), and the coin starts to deteriorate until it literally starts falling apart bit by bit.
It might be a moot point because I doubt cents will be circulating in 70 years from now (when the first zinc Lincoln cents were minted would be around 100 years old.
