I took this picture using the negative filter on my camera just to show better depth, lines, and spaces that haven't been touched, or rubbed away. I now a few coins got past without the initials FG but not in this year (by my research, but I'm often wrong) there is no rub marks or worn away marks where the FG should be. The G isn't real prominent but it's clear there is no F. Any thoughts? Would like all opinions and advice. This also is another cool jar coin. Wish I had something great to post but that MD coin is all I have found haha
The missing initials are either from a Grease Filled Die or over abraded dies. Both need to be totally missing to have a premium. I myself have no interest in these. I think a Greaser is considered an error. John1
This is grease. The two clad years with actual no FG errors are 1972 D and 1982 P. There are a few more no FG errors in the silver and silver clad years, but I never figured out which since I set those aside anyway.
Yeah it's definitely not the missing FG error yrs. I have been finding alot of these grease errors. A bunch of different types. Tyvm for the responses I appreciate it alot
