I've seen this marking on many of my coins, so I decided to ask the forum if they know what causes this mark. It looks like a mouth with two fangs.

I see similar marks on my coins, usually on quarters, halves, and dollars. I believe it's made by the reeded edge of one coin striking another. Great picture!
