Just came across this 1966 Quarter. On the reverse is what appears to be multiple die cracks. What do you folks think? I tried to point out the most obvious, but there are many here!

Whoa! Great find! BTW.

Looks like almost total die separation with die cracks through "Motto and Quarter". Can't tell from pix, color off/flash/ angle? Are those apparent "holes" incuse (inward) or are they raised? Incuse is a sign of planchet lamination? flaw, raised is a die chip or in this size a Cud. Looks like latter to me.

That coin's a mess, but is a keeper. Nice find.

Thanks!

Yes they are raised.

I'm going to put it in a 2X2 and hang on to this one!

looks more like glue or some other adhesive that dried clear. I can see some of the device's & other design elements underneath. IMHO

That's what I first thought as well. But the long cracks on the top and bottom are real, not tape or residual adheasive . .

That's where the glue ends and the coin begins

As Homer Pyle would say,"well, gowl-lee!".
As Max Smart would say, "missed it by that much!"

Ooops!

I was wrong, you guys were right . .

Decided to clean it and take another look . . It's some type of epoxy I suppose. Sometimes you try too hard to find an error and over look the obvious . .

Ya glue will fool you a lot. You just want it to be an error so much, you make up your mind it is. Acetone should take it off.

Sometimes people see what they want to see:

So when others mention what it is, they often doubt. But it is what it really is.
