Morning everyone I have a 1909 p and a 1909 vdb I was wondering how to tell if one is a proof die. I will send them to be graded soon. I am still learning how to navigate this form. Very grateful for your help. Off to work I go. Have a blessed day.

Both look like early die state strong business strikes, in great shape! Don't know about proof dies, know mint started proof dies later (in 1936?).

There WERE proofs in 1909, however the uneven rim makes me fairly sure this is not a satin proof

Could you please post photos of the whole obverse and reverse without such high contrast? I am 100% sure your coin actually looks nothing like the photos you posted.

Confused now...this is why in the future you should do 1 coin per thread. But if the very first new pic you posted is the vdb I really like it

Not matte proof coins....just regular business strikes.
