Title says it all. Been wondering for a while.
They have redone the Cent, Nickel, Quarter(so many types of these now it makes my head spin), an even the Dollar(Why did they have to go and make these smaller?).
But what about the smallest coin? Why did the Rosie get forgotten?
Thanks...Mont

I have not heard anything.
I hope not. I have design change fatigue. As long as they have 5 rotating quarters every year, a changing reverse on $1 (and possibly more $1 in legislation)...we could use something stable.

I don't mind the smaller dollar -- I hadn't been born yet when the bulkier Ikes were still being minted -- but the tacky "$1" reverse is horrible. At least the early Sacagawea's wrote out ONE DOLLAR.

I would like to see something different, little design that doesn't contain a person

This year marks half a century of completely unchanged US coins. There was a 1968-D dime minted the year they restored normal dating and mint marks and there is a 2017-D dime being released right now. This is the second longest of all US coin series.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I hope not either. Bad enough the Mint ruined the cent and nickle design.

Yes, they are updating the obverse to Rosie O'Donnell to allow us to keep the nickname.

Reminds me of the day about 20 years ago when I saw an ad in Numismatic News that spoke of "the soon-to-be-discontinued" Roosevelt dime. Intrigued, I called up the business in question and asked them about that. I told the guy on the other end that I had not heard anything about the design being discontinued. He replied in a very curt fashion, "Well, my friend, although nothing is planned as of now, the fact that it's been around for so long means it probably will be discontinued soon." Moral of the story: Anytime a businessman you don't know refers to you as "my friend," he's trying to pull something shady on you.

When Reagan died there was some discussion of replacing Roosevelt with Reagan, but Nancy put an end to that saying that her husband would not have wanted to be the one to replace him on the dime. Reagan had been an ardent supporter of Roosevelt in his early years and had great respect for him. I haven't heard of any rumors since then.

I remember that "Reagan on the dime" talk. At the time, I thought, "Sure, go ahead, but keep Roosevelt and put Reagan on the other side. Picking a president is pretty much a coin toss anyway." I was so young.
