Hey everyone! It's been a few months since my last post requesting some help with identifying a 1937-D (http://goccf.com/t/271853) and I thought I would just give a final update! To recap, my friend inherited a sizable collection of US coins and asked if I could help him sift through the boxes of coins and take inventory of what he has. After some digging, we came across a 1909 S VDB penny and 1937-D 3 legged Buffalo nickel. We had those sent off to be authenticated after some recommendations from these forums. Once we got them back, my friend had consigned them through an auction house based here in Seattle (Pacific Galleries) and had gotten some pretty decent prices for the two coins.

I just wanted to take this moment to thank everyone that put in their opinions about the nickel and encouraged us to have them graded and authenticated. It was pretty fun going through all of the collection and actually finding that handful of valuable coins in the droves!

After holding on to a lot of the collection and waiting to see the kind of money he got for the two, my friend is in the process of consigning a some of his silver US coins at that same auction company. I don't know the rules of linking to sales in the forums, but I thought I would mention it to the people that helped me and my friend! If it is allowed to post links to an auction, I will do so in this thread.

Once again, thank you so much coin community, you're all so welcoming and helpful!!
