Both amazing coins.. However... I'd pick coin A.

Coin B has great details. It has a few blemishes here and there, but overall, very eye appealing. That being said, my gut tells me that coin has been clean harshly, and very recently.

Coin A appears to have a few die breaks, as well as a few scratches as well. It appears a bit more worn in areas, but overall, I think it has more original surfaces. For a 200+ year old coin, I kind of want to see a bit of grunge on the coin. It's not 'dirty' per say, instead, I consider that it's "covered in history".

I would like to learn more about detecting cleaning, especially from images, but I like the look of B better.
Rest in Peace

Coin B for eye appeal. Although I'd take A if you'd give it to !e!

This basically.
(Fixed what I'm assuming is a typo, incidentally.)

I'd take coin B because the reverse of Coin A is mottled which detracts from the design and the eye appeal. Neither one has original looking surfaces.

Still, 1799 is the most common date in the series. "Select don't settle" is good advice here.
