I recently purchased this 1857 FEC with a big Die Cud on the wing. It this Snow #16?

I'm not sure where to look for the digits in the eagle's feathers or if they still show with the wear on the feathers.

Thanks!

I thought SNOW was for Indian Head cents - looks like grease strike through and maybe a die chip.

Yes, that is the S-16. Unfortunately with the wear, the MPDs are going to be very tough to see, as they're basically in the center of the breast right where the wear is.

I agree with S16. Very interesting variety that could easily be missed if it wasn't for the prominent Cud in the middle of the eagle's left wing. Too bad that the coin is so worn that the MPD's are almost gone.

Agree S-16. Snow is one of the hobby's leading experts on both FE and IHC.
