Sent the order in my check cleared my bank. on 2/13 I hadn't heard anything by 2/17 so I called the person said that My order would be shipped on Monday the 2/20. and it could be another 5 days in the mail. Now when going over the FAQ for JM Bullion towards the end of a statement "If you sent a paper check, the three to five business day bounce period begins the day the email confirmation is sent. Most orders ship within one business day of cleared payment." If my check has cleared why do they need an additional 3/5 bounce period? If it cleared then product should be shipped. Anybody else find this strange and that it isn't explained more clearly in their purchasing information. I also placed an order with SilverTowne the day after the checked cleared on On the the 16th product was in my hand on the 17th. I can say that I will not be ordering from JM Bullion again. The service seems to be much better from SilverTowne. I will see as I have placed another order with SilverTowne.

From my experience, if you are a first time check user with them it does take a little longer to process.

My first order took much longer than subsequent orders.
Also, after the first order they started allowing me the option of electronic check, which speeds it up greatly.

Just to confirm, the hold period begins once we receive and deposit your payment, not when the check clears your bank. The only way for us to 100% clear a check as good funds is to wait out the bounce period.
If you want to send over your order number, I can check on the status and give you a projected ship date.

@ circus.. Once you order a time or two they ship pretty quick. I have found JM Bullion is a great place to do business with.

My first order took close to 3 weeks to arrive, but arrive it did. Next order came faster, now I do the electronic checks! Tried 1st National Reserve, ordered the NRA rounds, they were a little slow, but still they arrived. Webekin

I love JMBullion. By the way, they are still running the buy 10 1oz silver rounds for spot price (nothing more, not even postage). Limit one per customer/address.

I've had good experiences with JM and APMEX.... I'd say JM took longer to ship, but I wasn't in a rush.

Again the whole point is if they are going to take 2/3 weeks to ship product, not counting shipping time. Then they should say so and not 2/3 days after your check hit their bank! I sent the requested information to JM Bullion, He got back to me and said "I see that a hold was placed on the order that required further review from our billing team. I anticipate this will be cleared today and the order will ship tomorrow." If the check cleared and was in their bank what BS review would be necessary? I had called and talked to their customer agents twice, and neither one mentioned that there was a problem with the order. I never received any emails or phone calls about a problem. We will see if they ship today as stated and they send an email with the tracking number.

The simple solution would be to do an e-check

Well after two more emails, they sent one that a shipping label has been created. Will see how long it takes the place in Vegas to ship the order. Quote: The simple solution would be to do an e-check They don't offer it under options

It has been picked up and in the system of the USPS. Interesting tid bit of info, somebody on another forum is correct in part JM Bullion has no inventory, the fulfillment house is A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc out of Vegas. So that can explain some of the delay since money's had to go through and clear A-mark bank too. Another interesting bit is that A-mark has acquired a majority ownership stake in Indiana-based Silver Towne mint This happened in Aug of 2016. I wonder how many of the other bullion sellers also use A-Mark's fulfillment center in Vegas!

I have never done business with JMBullion (yet) but I have paid for stuff by check with BGASC, APMEX, and Provident Metals and my experience with all of those sites is it just takes some time. It takes time for you check to get to them, takes time for them to deposit your check, then there is typically a five "business days" for your check to clear through them, then once it ships it could take another few days to get to you especially if it ships before a weekend. Long story short, I always pay by check to get the best price but I know now that I won't get my stuff for about 3 weeks.

Short version: The fact that your bank says the check cleared is irrelevant. Long version: The fact that your bank says the check cleared is irrelevant. Mail order companies that take checks have no idea when your bank clears the check. The company has a set number of days they wait. Banks don't notify depositors that a check clears. Once the notification is received that the shipment is in the USPS system you should have your merchandise in 2-3 days. If it takes "another 5 days", this is all on USPS, not JM Bullion. I have never had any problem getting merchandise from them quickly, even when I pay by check. (I will admit that I use e-check to eliminate the time it takes to get to JM Bullion). It appears it is NOT going to be "2/3 weeks" before you get your order. If you want your order quickly, pay with PayPal. "PayPal orders clear as soon as they completed and move directly into the shipping queue." Or credit card. "Credit and debit card orders clear as soon as they are marked to Paid in our system, which typically occurs within one business day." Paper checks just take longer "After we have received and deposited your payment, there is a 3-5 business day processing period while we wait for the payment to clear." Reading between the lines, the 3-5 business day delay doesn't even start until they have deposited your check which could add a day or two depending on the day of the week and if there are bank holidays involved.

I can always tell when a company doesn't stock an item or ran out/back ordered, whatever. They create a shipping label, send me a tracking number within the 1-2 days they promise they'll ship, and it sits for days on end before any kind of movement occurs. However!, I've learned to be patient, now that computers and just in time inventory have taken over not to mention total electronic money systems, it's out of control, or in control, take your pick. I made a paypal payment error the other day and not even paypal nor I could cancel the payment, only the receiver of the payment could cancel the transaction, scary world of electronic money systems.

To expand on NSS-52's comment...
The "Check 21" law required banks to electronically process checks within 1 day. To get around the intent of the law (force faster processing), most banks just "clear" the funds the next day. Then if the check actually bounces (same old 3-5 day clearing), they remove the funds from you account per the account agreement.
Net? "Of course we follow check 21, it's the law" oh, but THAT check bounced.
As we say, the large print giveth and the small print takith away.
