Hello
I found this 1959 D nickel the other day .It looks like there is something struck on to it .I did soak the coin in acetone. Its not something that got spilled on .I also used my fingernail to scrape it of ...it's not coming of.I don't want to damage it with a sharp object. The area I'm talking about is copper color .The coin weighs 5.04gr...
Any idea?.....

This looks like it might be a struck through a piece of copper scrap? Chances are pretty slim. But this could happen.

My vote is struck through copper scrap and it was retained. How much does it weigh?

Also, did you end up selling the cent from the other topic?
