I have been having trouble attributing this coin. It has die clashes, and it may be wishful thinking, but I think I can see the remains of the N and st on the obverse. I can faintly see the diamond shape that is in the middle of the N. I can definitely see the square shape in the vee of the hair where the st clash is. It looks to me as if the clashes were on an earlier die state, and then not all the way polished off. I will list the original pics and ones that I have out lined so you can see what I am referring to. The closest listing I can see is the 1A2. The clashes are in the right locations, but my coin does not have a pitted reverse. Also my coin is cracked up the wazoo. I will include a picture where I have outlined the cracks and some pictures of the more interesting cracks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the pics. Sorry there are a lot.

If you have not already gone to vamworld, that site is a wonderful tool, and you can post your coin and ask for them to look up VAM for you. At least they helped me with one I could not attribute. Might give it a try..

I have checked the references at VAMworld, and I have not found a satisfactory conclusion. As for posting it there I have yet to do so. I prefer this site as my first attempt. I will go there if I don't find any solutions here.

Try E mailing Jack Lee at VAM World-
I've already sent him a couple of e mails with pics and he has gotten back to me very fast with answers.

One of which made me very happy, and also should make you happy!
You were right on the button with my 1921P. Morgan- he looked at the pics etc-definitely a 1921VAM3H-the die gouges in the olive branches supersedes the VAM3-16 berries/spiked F.

If you get a chance, I'm going to listing a new post- on a 1882P Morgan-
Would like you input on this. Jack says its from overpolishing dies and on lots Morgans.

Thanks again.

Well VAMworld found it for me.

This coin is a VAM 1F. It is a much later die state than in the pictures on VAMworld, but after checking the details very closely, I must agree.

Thanks for the feedback.
