I've found several of these 1960 nickels with md but this one has a lot more than I've seen on the others .

Still looks like MD to me, not any increase in value.

Thanks fuzzy317 I knew it was all md I just hadn't seen it on both sides of the letters and numbers like that . Apparently the dies for that year were horrible. Practically every 1960 nickel I have looked at has bad md .

Thanks coop for the thread ! I knew this one wasn't doubled die variety I put it on here because I was amazed how much md was present it's on every device on both sides of the coin . The info you gave me will come in handy if I ever find a nickel that isn't lds or vlds but so far I haven't found one . But right now I'm looking at 1999 and back . Again thanks for the info ,very educational as always .

The ones I usually search are proof nickels. But even they can show die wear on them with just 3,000 coins struck per die. (6,000 strikes as the coins are struck twice)

I can see why you search the proofs . I see either md or die wear doubling on 80% of what I've looked at . It will shire help a newbie learn the difference in md and die wear and a doubled die lol.
