Did anyone go to the coin exchange the RCM Vancouver boutique? I picked up 10 dimes and 4 dollars which was the max. Did any of you guys go? Also, one question. Was this coin exchange just for the Vancouver location of for the others as well?

I had just looked at the event calendar on Thursday or Friday for Winnipeg and nothing was listed. Wonder how this is promoted.

I received an email from the mint about this exchange (from the email subscription).

The Vancouver Exchange was for 3 days last weekend; Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
On Friday, it was $5 worth of coins - 4 loonies and 10 dimes.
On Saturday, they had to cut it to $2.50 of coins because they were afraid of running out of coins.
The next coin exchange is Mid March for the quarter.
The Mint Boutiques have coin exchanges throughout the year and is open to the general public. I think they use the events to draw people into stores to buy coins since they are always busy on coin exchange days. They are casting the net as wide as possible to get new collectors so they don't care about MC members.

Does anyone know if they will be any of these coin exchanges in Calgary?

No, unfortunately they're held at the Royal Canadian Mint's Boutiques, only located in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

@wildflowerAB I realize the RCM boutiques are located in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver. On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, the RCM had a MC event at the Canada Post at Marlborough Mall from 5:30 until 7:30. Michelle Grant (Alluring Maple Leaves) was there to talk about her inspiration when designing coins. They also had free collector cards and the Women's Right to Vote $1 coin for exchange. Considering Amy Choi from Calgary designed the 2017 ten cent circulating coin, I was hoping to learn of a coin exchange in Calgary. Also in 2014 the RCM held a coin unveiling at the Banff Springs Hotel for the Haunted Bride Coin. Not a coin exchange. Just an unveiling. Wishing we got more coin exchanges. Do you ever come in for the Calgary coin show?

@discovery,
You are correct in that sometimes coin exchanges are held outside the Boutiques.
They had the Wait for Daddy coin/card in Oakridge Mall in Vancouver.. The flag coin exchange was also at malls.

@NiNGCumpoop I would be interested in purchasing rolls as well. I don't understand why it's always so difficult to get rolls of coins.

@MoneyPenny Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver definitely have more opportunity to attend these coin exchanges. Really wish I lived in one of those cities!

I was told the mint will be selling a box with each of the rolls of coins. Don't know the cost or the date.
