I was not at Torex but would like hear how it went. Anybody want to provide a brief show report?
I was set up at Boucherville. Two people explained that Torex wasn't great, both in terms of the number of dealers and the inventory. Boucherville had roughly 35 dealers present, but actual collector turnout was kind of low for the number of tables set up. Saturday was surprisingly busy with fairly strong numbers reported by other dealers, while Sunday was typically slow.

I found one coin out of the whole show that I wanted, but it opened up a new area of collecting for me! So I cannot complain about the Torex! People were much friendlier this time around compared to past Torex shows

There was more people in Saturday, seems most were really interested in previewing the auction lots, only found a few small items

John, it was nice meeting you, I was the gentleman with Thedollarman, it was a pleasure! And yes, lots of interest in the auction previewing, and it was good to see some strong bids compared to last auctions. Perhaps the coin market is finally starting to get back to how it was before?

Great to see some young blood in the hobby, hope all your group got their lots, as always nice to put a face to CCF members.

Just looking over the auction results now. 50% of the estimate is about what the lots were selling for ... if they sold at all. US material was strong, as usual, but it looks like every area of Canadian material was at half of trends.

Half of the estimate is better than it has done in the past, I should have been more specific, the dime and 50c were what sold very well. Nickels also did quite well! Lots of large cents, but those haven't been strong since many collections have made it to the market within the past couple years.
Plus estimates are exactly that, an estimate :)

I attended the Boucherville show. Was a good show but there were not 35 dealers there. 20-25 tops.

Not that this is worth bickering over in the slightest, but here is the list of dealers in attendance. Granted, four or five could not make it. http://anpb.net/salle.php
