Never. LOL. Nor do I expect to ever.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I would think that in every case, a CCF member who likes CRH'ing,
would love to share their joy with each gold coin found, by reporting here in the CCF.

I'd think that you could find gold coins in rolls about as often as you find gold coins in circulation or in change.

Never found a gold coin but I have been given rolls of silver Kennedys and a silver eagle by my favorite bank tellers. They came from customers emptying out a safe deposit box. Ironically there is a coin dealer less than a block from that bank but they didn't want to go through the "hassle". So I figure it must be possible to pick up a gold coin for face value under the right circumstances.

If you CRH enough half dollar rolls, you will find one of those Kennedy gold plated halves that used to be sold as novelties. Most of them ended back in circulation.

I find lots of gold coins from coin roll hunting. So much that I only keep one of each design. (Presidential Dollars- They're "gold"!)

My sister found a Gold British 1/2 soverign in a roll of Nickels or cents cant remember which size of the coin. I believe it was many years and she gave it to me. I sold it in the 1970`s when gold was high. I was an early 1900`s era coin. Closest I Came to find any.

Have found 2 of the gold plated Kennedy halves! One recently, stamped 1960 over the "In God" and 1985 over the "We Trust"! Webekin

I wonder if anyone ever found a Newfoundland 2 dollar gold coin. It would be approximately the same size of the current Canadian dime.
Newfoundland 2 dollar gold = 17.98mm diameter
Current Canadian dime = 18.03mm diameter
Would be pretty awesome to crack open a roll of dimes and find something like that in there.
