Congratulations! The 1793 Cap Cent attracts me, but high prices and condition challenges have convinced me to not pursue it.

Congrats! I've been actively pursuing one but I just can't get my head around the high prices.

Frankly getting the "queen" is much more impressive, and more difficult, than getting the "King". They made 36,000 kings, just 11,000 Queens.

From the rarity standpoint, you are absolutely correct. The 1793 Liberty Cap, especially in high grade, is much tougher. But as type collector I'd much rather have Chain Cent because of its historical significance. Prices have come down a bit and about a year ago a well known dealer had a very nice 1793 Cap Cent (the slab grade was EF-45 or AU-50) for about $150,000. During the same year I saw a very nice 1793 Chain for about the same money. I'd take the Chain for the same money. The high prices on the 1793 Caps have always been a turn-off for me. I am very happy with high grade examples of the 1794 and 1795 Cap Cents for my collection.

For the $15,000. Ill never find a better other VF details for the price looking this nice.Rim bumps there are a few--but very insignificant to kill eye appeal*. The surfaces are smooth with few marks all lettering are razer sharp --its just a killer coin. Thanks all for your comments

And POP for S13 is about 180 in all grades. The S1 is pop 145 in all grades-- this is looking carefully between the lines. Any of these above the VG becomes like 45 POP and VF --ect in the teens pop*. -
