Hi Hans, yes, we've had to put that post quota in place. You wouldn't believe how many spammers we used to get, who joined the forum just so they could spam everybody. Putting the post limit hasn't stopped the problem entirely, but it has certainly minimized it.
This forum doesn't have a "PM" system like some other forums do - that was a design decision by the forum's founders (who had a bad experience with the PM system on another forum). It works through your regular e-mail address, the one you used when you joined the forum and is listed in your member profile. Be aware that, by using the forum e-mail system, the forum lets the recipient see your e-mail address so they can reply directly to you without having to go through the forum, but you cannot find out that other person's e-mail address unless they choose to reply to you.
