Rather than automatically and permanently tagging a topic with the flaming icon when it has exceeded two pages (or whatever the logic is), I suggest having it only be tagged as hot if it has received >= X amount of posts within the past Y days.

A topic may have once been hot, but hasn't seen any activity in months. So... not really hot any more. (Kind of how I feel at a high school reunion.)

In the status quo, it's redundant to enumerate the pages AND show a flaming icon.

Just a respectful suggestion.
