The coin is not mine, so these are the only pictures I have.

The auction ends in a few hours, so replies are greatly appreciated!

I just don't want to add a counterfeit coin to my collection!

Hard to tell from these pics. I dug up this old thread with reference pics: http://goccf.com/t/252833

To me, this looks closest to #6, being slightly rotated. The spacing between the 9 and second 1 don't suggest an altered '44, but that's not conclusive. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. But it's your money.
Rest in Peace

Tough call simply because it's a key, but looks genuine. Mintmarks on the six '14-D dies are remarkably consistent compared to most other early years. Assuming this is on ebay, regardless of the auction's terms you would be able to return it if fails a simple glue test.

Lets us know if won the auction. The coin has nice eye appeal. For me, it is always hard to tell if mintmark is correct size/shape.

I wouldn't risk more than $50. I see some verdigris, and it looks a little questionable.

He offers returns, so I am pretty safe, plus he is a reputable dealer with 8,000 stars.

I think it's okay, and if the price is right and you're not bothered by the old scratch across the temple, then I don't see a problem.

I recommend to send it straight to ANACS. I may be able to help to minimize shipping fees as I live a few minutes away from their drop-off office.

Looks real to me. The stuff around the date and MM appear to be the same. To me that means the MM and date are about the same age. Due to the condition, I'll be thinking the cost will go up, up, up.

Thank you coin197 for your generous offer but the auction went to high for my tastes!
