Thanks for your opinion,
but I prefer to keep it
cleaned as a souvenir.

If you prefer it bright and shiny you did no wrong here.
This is a case where a coin looks better cleaned and did not lose any value in the process.
So much for the "never clean a coin" adage.
There are exceptions..
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

That's the beauty of bullion pieces. You can do whatever you like to them and the melt value doesn't change.
