I have a question about a Littleton album I just bought. It's the ring type binder. This particular book was for large coppers. When I placed the coins in the pages there is about 1/16th to 1/8 gap between the coin and the side of the coin hole. So the coin just kind of rolls and spins around. Is this normal?

This book is specifically for these type coins too. The Large Coronet.

Maybe they intended it that way because coins usually are not exact sizes. The same situation exists with Capital Holders. Most times that I've used them the holes were slightly larger than the coins. I used to take up the space by cutting shims from a Saflip (Non-PVC) 2x2. Usually all it took was one or two shims and every thing was tight.

The same situation in reverse exists with the other albums where you have to press them into a hold that is slightly smaller than the coins.
Rest in Peace

I have some Capital plastic holders for type sets, and several of the coins -- the older ones -- just roll around in the holes. It really bothers me. I'll have to work with longnine's suggestion, and try and tighten them up.
