Hello, I've been collecting ancients for a while and actively involved in other ancient communities, but first time here, although I recognise some if you from other places. To introduce myself, here is my first ancient ever. Feel free to post any relevant coins.

@Sallent, first welcome to CCF. Second, for those who don't know as much about these coins, it would be super helpful to post a little more detail with your coins (mint, dates, attribution, etc.) That helps folks like me stand on your shoulders. Thx!

Great coin, I started with an Alex III drachm and eventually added a tet but not as good as this one. You set the bar pretty high for yourself.
Welcome ^^

Hi Salient,
I love Alexander the Great coins. I have owned (and sold) many many tetradrachms. My favourite are from the Temnos Mint (hence my profile image!)
Yours is a very nice posthumous example from the Babylon Mint I love the monogram inside the wreath. Price 3704, c 317-311 BC, I believe.
Welcome and thanks for sharing!
Peter

I'm a little late to replying to some of the issues raised, but someone asked for more info on the coin:
It was minted under Seleukos I Nikator, the first ruler of the Seleucid Empire. Roughly minted around 300 BCE in Babylon, the mint mark is on the reverse next to Zeus' knee. It weighs a little over 17 grams, so it's bank on as far as weight is concerned.
I will be posting more coins shortly. I have a lot to share. some of the coins might have been seen in the other forum I'm prominent in, and some of you here who are also there might have seen them already, but that doesn't make them less worthwhile. And some will be new, not having been posted in any other forum. Either way, can't wait to show my collection and see your own collections.
