So I found a used one with most of the dated dimes included plus some that are in the 3rd page that do not have dates under the holes. Who ever owned this previously could not fit some of the dimes in the holes and used tape to hold them in place. Also the album has some tears from trying to push the dimes into the holes. My questions are : Does this album have any value in this condition if it was to be sold? Should I remove the dimes and sell them separately, there is a nice run of dimes in the album (almost complete 1937-1992). No 1937, plain 1947 or 1948. Thanks.

The taping came from getting tired of 'em always falling out, used to have to do that to Whitman's in the 60's when I was a kid... . As you know, a good soak in acetone gets tape crap off!

At least half of these that come in the store are taped. Once you added and removed the coins a couple of times, they would fall out.

The problem with the Whiteman Albums is that the holes are all the same size. Both cent and five cent coins have three different diameters. The smaller diameters tend to be loose and fall out and the larger diameters are a tight fit. (sometimes too tight to fit) I speak from experience in helping my granddaughter with her albums.
