I have a Lincoln Cent album with 2 slots for the 1955 cent. Anyone know the reason for 2 slots?

Just the '55? or all of the 50's? If all, could be for proofs.
Rest in Peace

Is there a spot for 55-S ? If not ,the album maker made an error . I really doubt that it's for the king of D/D .
Rest in Peace

The blue Whitman album and folder was made to hold the bigboy of doubled Wheat ear cents, the 1955-P, and labeled that way. Other manufacturers just add the unlabeled space like yours. What most do, including myself is fill the hole w/ the "Poor man's" doubled-die. That's the die deteriorated version where the date's 5's have a "ghosting" effect, actually just plum worn out die.

to the forum!

That looks like a HARCO COINMASTER album.
I believe the second 1955 slot is for the doubled die.

These albums are sold as containing no Polyvinyl Chloride, but they will still leave something on the surface of your coins over a long period of time.

Agree. Would not recommend storing coins in this album.

And that one is really common. Even in MS grades, only few dollars. Many people do put that one in place of the real Doubled Die.
