Just wanted to get some opinions on 1991 mint sets - I have a couple each of the Uncirculated and Specimen sets. Mostly valuable due to the 25 cent piece as I understand it. I have the opportunity to sell these (at a bit of a profit) or I can hang on to them - ether to sell later or to hand off to my kids.
Looking on thoughts on these sets in terms of value. Do you think perhaps in five or ten years they will be more sought after and harder to get? I know mintage wise they are not super rare. Thanks in advance for any replies.

i doubt the price will fluctuate much as the 25c has been around for a while and the value has been pretty much established, I would give them to the kids

I think the 91 business strike quarter may be more valuable than the PL coin in the set.

i was lucky enough to put together a roll from buying them real cheap at a coin show before most dealers knew the mintage

Sell the sets and buy a couple of business strike '91s
The sets are overpriced right now.
They will go down in the long run.
Unlike their circulation counterparts they are not low mintage.

I've had all the '91s in 67 condition except the circulation, they are easy to come by. If you are concerned with future value, look for no less than a 66 or 67 in a circulation grade, and at least 68 in SP, PL, or PR. They are all common and can be bought at any time at lower grades. Forget the word "investment" in the Canadian coin market unless you own the finest coin known of a particular type. If you desire an investment, buy some dividend paying stocks or speculative real estate.

Thanks for the inputs. I'll probably sell the specimen sets and hang onto the business strikes. Wish I had the deep pockets to afford the finest type of coins . . .
As to the markets and speculative real estate I think both are overdue for a correction . . . I'll wait until that happens (whenever . . . ) and perhaps buy in.
