I saw one of these at the RCNA convention a few years ago. Big hunk of gold.

The gold bar that's chained and guarded at the Winnipeg boutique that allows visitors to pick up is really hard to do until the guard gave some helpful hints by turning it upside down, he said due to gold's density it's the only way to pick it up one handed. There's about 4 million reason to snatch this beauty

Can you imagine if it the dimwits place an ad on kijiji for it?

Seriously though, it'll be chopped up and remelted into much smaller ingots.

More details here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...cle34432478/

They used a wheelbarrow and possibly public transit.

"The police communique asked the public to report any occurrence where someone had offered to sell large, unusual volumes of gold."

It would be a pretty big gamble to do this I guess if someone gets away with it you would rich but the other hand you could get free room and board for 20 years not a gamble I would take but someone did

Its amazing that they have actually managed to steal this much gold! Security has been absolutely embarrassed here. They'll never get that back, I bet the furnace was already burning when they were stealing it. Tons of gold at a time when it will fetch a very high price! I hope they do catch the thieves, thats more than most earn in a lifetime so it doesn't seem fair :)
