Large date. LIBERTY isn't weak, tail of 7 extends below the 0, top of 7 not even with 9 & 0, top of 0 comes to a point.

Those four things cannot be there.
Keep looking! I haven't found one yet, 768,000 CRH and counting!

Nice link Marie! Just shows this isn't the sm date. The two clues I look for are #1) the last part of LIBERTY is very weak, on circulated cents almost gone. #2) the 0 on the large cent has a small point on top, the small date does not. Then determine the size and alignment of the 7. I know it sounds backwards, but it will save your eyes and have less headaches later!

And with the letters of STATES being reduced in size, that indicates MD, not a true DD.

Hi lawannado - you have yourself a 1970S LD with MD. It's a common coin with common damage; there are much better specimens to be had. The thing you might want to consider is keeping a date/mm specimen until you have a better one. With a variety or error specimen, it would be worth holding onto in most instances even if you find a better one.

There is a DDO for the 1970S that's pretty valuable. Have a look at Coppercoins when you get a chance. Good luck on the hunt!

Large date with Machine Doubling on the perimeter devices ... as shared above.

Common coin with common issues ... keep on looking.
