@MoneyPenney The lilac tree comes in the maroon clamshell; however, no custom sleeve. It states clearly in the RCM website that this item comes in a black beauty box. CC&C advance VIP notice shows no custom box for this item as well. Oh....and I changed my mind about the 10 ounce medallion. I bought one after all:)))))) A woman does have the right to change her mind. LOL. LOL. Also, these 3 ten ounce coins are so female empowering. I am getting them for the birth of my new 2 month old granddaughter:))))))

Quote: Buying all 3 of them comes to $2700! For that price I could get a really nice 1948 Silver Dollar. It not correct justification, in my opinion, MoneyPenney Did you actually buy the 1948 SD recently, spending this amount, or it just in theory? I wouldn't try to get three of them cause: find the design only of the first one exceptionally attractive, but will not buy this, cause doesn't have CAD 1000 to spend on coin.

Quote:I was just looking on mint.ca at the first set that came out and noticed the following in the questions/answer section. Someone express disappointment that further sets with these coins were issued and asked for the 'real' total mintage numbers. The response was telling and a little infuriating. "Please note that it is not a current practice for the Mint to publicly disclose information on final mintages. Answered on 2/13/2017 by Ashley (Product Team) from Ottawa" I added the bolding because this is the first time I have seen confirmation that the Mint doesn't plan to release mintage numbers anymore. They stopped in 2015 and as a collector this is unacceptable. I encourage each of you to reach out to the Mint to pressure them to reverse this policy. It's pretty sad that someone will likely have to invoke the Access to Information Act to get basic data which support the hobby. What a shoddy way for RCM to finally confirm what several of us already suspected. No plan to publish mintages. And if mintages aren't published, who's to say the originally announced mintages are adhered to. + No specific time period for sales of unsold NCLT. = more grim future prospects for NCLT.

Justsilver,
That's not the type of thing you admit to. Just kidding. It goes to show, you never know based on a name. As long as you don't make the same mistake if you ever meet in person, I think you'll be forgiven. P.s. I may have made the same mistake with a few members in the past. It can be embarrassing. Male, female, or other...... I couldnt care less as long as the posts are informative/helpful/intriguing. And they are.

Panda,
If they are not NCLT and non-circulation, what are they?

They are circulating legal tender (coins) in special paper wrap.

Panda, To my understanding, the traditional designs for coins are not being released into circulation for 2017. Only the special designs for Canada 150 are being released. I think this is a bit of a grey area. A silly grey area. The RCM should not have minted any coins with the regular design. Including the gift sets, 150 sets, and rolls, the regular designs must have mintages in the millions, yet we are supposed to believe these are rare? I'm willing to bet more than a few end up in change from coffee.

I'm no expert but If you can unwrap the roll and take the coins to Tim Hortons to buy a coffee it's not NCLT; yes or no?

High speed Winnipeg presses, circulation finish, composition and design...uncirculated circulation coins. Not NCLT. But if you really want to get a majority rules opinion, create a poll. Added: But wait. If you create a poll, which forum topic would it be under?
