@wildflower Yes on the RCM website there are two boxed sets. The classic set coins which will not be in circulation I believe that is what I have heard. And the boxed sets of my Canada designs. May issue of boxed my Canada 150 coins. June issue of boxed classic coins. Also, a numbered certificate from the 10,000 sets.

Quote: I called this on page 2 of this thread Good call T1Steel. BTW, I posted confirmation yesterday in this thread too... But too be fair, Justsilver posted it first on the other forum. Sadly, with a 10k 'mintage' in these special wraps, plus all of the other sets with the traditional designs, they may as well have put them into circulation - nothing rare about them.

It's funny that the classic designed circulation coins were advertised as rare and available only in limited mintage sets, when the sets first came out.

I'm regular platinum MC but I don't see either boxed set of rolls yet.

If by funny you mean deceptive, dishonest, etc. it's hilarious. I was just looking on mint.ca at the first set that came out and noticed the following in the questions/answer section. Someone express disappointment that further sets with these coins were issued and asked for the 'real' total mintage numbers. The response was telling and a little infuriating. "Please note that it is not a current practice for the Mint to publicly disclose information on final mintages. Answered on 2/13/2017 by Ashley (Product Team) from Ottawa"I added the bolding because this is the first time I have seen confirmation that the Mint doesn't plan to release mintage numbers anymore. They stopped in 2015 and as a collector this is unacceptable. I encourage each of you to reach out to the Mint to pressure them to reverse this policy. It's pretty sad that someone will likely have to invoke the Access to Information Act to get basic data which support the hobby.

It certainly appears as if the Mint has "forgotten" what it takes to forge and maintain a strong relationship with collectors. For that matter, they may also now be a bit fuzzy on what it means to be a coin collector as opposed to a general consumer. Not releasing mintage figures is simply not acceptable to coin collectors. It's one more piece of evidence, however, that the RCM doesn't really view its NCLT issues as coins - they have become just another "product" for the consumer market. No one tracks the mintage of the latest washer or dryer, so why release mintage statistics on "coin" products?

Commems,
The washer dryer analogy is dead on. I don't understand why they would stop providing this information.

Just a simple answer for the RCM to confirm their advertised mintage max, how hard is that to do, no trade secerts national security issues, many of my local PO now carries very few coins a couple years ago the display's were over flowing, wonder why?

Thanks for the info New and Justsilver. Something just doesn't sit quite rght for RCM to be marketing 2017 classic circulated coin that will never be circulated. In my opinion it's a deceptive means to double their profit by creating something out of nothing.

Quote:The 10 ounce medallion coins do not interest me at all. What is with the RCM not doing this? Also, the lilac tree has no custom box; whereas last year cherry blossom did. I think they are really pinching pennies with the packaging:((((((( CC&C should probably have the new RCM releases out today for their VIP members and if someone is interested in still getting that 10 ounce medallion, this could be their opportunity by just calling them if not a VIP. NOTHING really exciting this month at all! The 10 oz Medallion coin is available at CC&C as a subscription. Like you, not interested in it all. Nothing special about it, it just another expensive big coin. Buying all 3 of them comes to $2700! For that price I could get a really nice 1948 Silver Dollar. As for the Lilac coin, the packaging is the same as for the Cherry Blossom. It came in a maroon clamshell with a outer box with cherry blossom picture. The RCM did not show the outer box but I expect it will be the same with a picture of Lilac on it.
