1935 Silver Dollar, Your Thoughts? - Coin Community Forum

flag4 Pillar of the Community United States 869 Posts	Posted 03/17/2017 10:17 pm I just acquired the fine old 1935 silver dollar. It has a very shiny "buffed" appearance. Apparently it was polished at some point during it's existence. Otherwise it's a fine BU piece. How would you grade it? Should I consider sending it to a TPG? I would be happy to have it in my collection, even with those comments. AU58, would have been MS62 without cleaning, but hey, that's life. Still a nice coin, anyway. Report this Post to the Staff

Looks more chrome like than a normal silver coin. I believe some collectors back in day used to buff them up like that for just that effect.
