I just acquired the fine old 1935 silver dollar. It has a very shiny "buffed" appearance. Apparently it was polished at some point during it's existence.
Otherwise it's a fine BU piece. How would you grade it? Should I consider sending it to a TPG? Or would that be a waste of time and money. Thanks.
Note: Original post edited, wrong coin posted.

Lovely piece, but no luster; has been cleaned.
What wear there is, has been the result of cleaning.
I would be happy to have it in my collection, even with those comments.

AU58, would have been MS62 without cleaning, but hey, that's life. Still a nice coin, anyway.

Thanks for your comment. The photos really don't capture the shine as well as it should. Looks more chrome like than a normal silver coin. I believe some collectors back in day used to buff them up like that for just that effect. I too like the coin and am happy to have it in my collection anyway.

Been buffed looks like, the glare on the coin doesn't help.

I wouldn't send it to a TPG because PCGS/NGC wouldn't give it a grade. Nonetheless, it's still got plenty of details and it is Canada's first circulated dollar :)

Agree not worth the grading costs. Damaged goods, unfortunately.

Polished and this is a coin that I would not send to a TPG.

I had a hunch that that would be the consensus . . It's still a nice coin and will always have a home in my collection . .
