Anybody know which coins specifically have spots in the Whitman 20th-Century type album? Does somebody else make such an album? I didn't see that Dansco had one, but I might have missed it.

Thanks.

Wow, maybe I should have thought about that one before I started my Dansco 7070 type set. Looks a lot easier, but I am into the 7070 now so no turning back. I might consider the 20th century Whitman to use for the coins that I pull out of the 7070 for upgrades, plus I probably have enough around here to completed 80 percent of the 20th century. All I have to do is look at Bryan1315's 7070 set for inspiration to make me want to plug along with my set. Good luck Jan on your journey.

I am using the 20th Century US Coin Type album made by H E Harris and Co. It has the following:

1864-1909 Indian cent
1909 VDB
1909-1958
1943
1959-1982
1982-Present
1883-1912 Liberty nickel
1913 Variety 1
1913-1938
1938-1965
1942-1945 Silver
1966-Present
1892-1916 Barber dime
1916-1945
1946-1964
1965-Present
1892-1916 Barber quarter
1916-1917
1917-1930
1932-1964
1976 Bicentennial Copper-Nickel Clad
1976 Bicentennial Silver Clad
1965-1998
1999-2000 State Quarters
1892-1915 Barber Half
1916-1947
1948-1963
1964 Silver
1965-1970 Silver Clad
1976 Copper-Nickel Clad
1976 Silver Clad
1971-Present
1878-1921 Morgan dollar
1921-1935
1976 Silver Clad
Variety 1 Bicentennial Dollar
Variety 2 Copper-Nickel Clad Bicentennial
Silver Clad Bicentennial
1971-1978
1979-1999
2000-Present

I'm working on this at present and for now I have a 2002 State Quarter instead of what it asked for. I'll probably change it again later for my state.

I looked at the photo at typesets.wikidot.com -- it looks like a folder, not an album. I'm thinking of the kind with plastic slides. I presume that's what the $15.95 Whitman one is, not a folder.

I need to go to a coin shop and look at them, I guess.

Thanks, all.

The 20th century comes as a folder or an album. At least for Whitman, I'm not sure about H E Harris.

I am sure you are correct. At least at that price, I hope it is an album. I think folders are at most $4~5 each!

The Harris is an album with the sliding plastic front/backs for easy viewing and, more importantly, adding coins

Jan,

Those photos were the individual pages removed from the album without the plastic slides. The black in the empty slots is the top of the scanner and not the back of a folder.

i have the harris coins of the 20th century folder, its great for beginning collectors because it contains pretty common coins, the whole thing can probably be completed for less than 100 if your using circulated coins. my only problem with it is that its a folder and I hate folders.

Just another follow-up, when I used the Whitman the holes were a tad undersized. I recommend you have some junk copper/nickel coins available just to pop in and out a few times to open up the slot a little.

yeah with my harris folder most of the holes are way to small, except for the one for the Morgan dollar, it flies out every time you open it. I dont think I will ever buy another folder
