coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/20/2017 3:22 pm To me it looks like a left over die scratch. Die scratches on the fields last a lot longer near the devices. They flatten faster out in the open fields. What does this have to do with anything? When looking for markers on a variety coin, some of the die scratches in the open area can flatten quicker. So you need to look at the direction of the die scratches on a certain device for a marker. Sometimes they inside of a device, or just in the close area of a device. So if this was a know marker for a variety, then it would mean something. But if it is not a marker for a know die, it is still part of a die scratch. (food for thought on searching for markers on variety coins) Report this Post to the Staff
