Here are two S.A. banknotes issued during 50s and 60s, one is a 5-Rand note and the other a 10-Rand note. Interestingly, the are of same size, same color and same pictorial design. How could you imagine when they were being circulated, people holding these currency must feel tedious and caused many troubles in daily money exchange. Was it a very wrong design? How do you think?

One is a 5 pound note and the other is a 10 rand note. In 1961 SA changed from the pound to the rand at a rate of two rand per pound. The notes pictured were of equivalent value.
