I got this about a year ago with some coins I bought at an estate sale. I wasn't collecting coins at the time so sold the others but I didn't know if this was real or not. I finally bought a gram scale and now know it's not real (over 2 grams over weight) but I am curious if this is an early counterfeit. It is silver.
I would metal detecting and found a 1652 pine tree shilling that looks so real I could bet my life on it. It weighs 5.2 grams it is not magnetic it past the ice test and was found about a foot underneath sand with musket shell casings. Any comments please advise what I should do.
No good information to allow a comment on the thread hijacking post. On the OP coin, clearly a fake and not a contemporary one. From the appearance, I would be very dubious about it being silver.
