Mint Mark 1988-S Dime - Coin Community Forum

regularguy Valued Member United States 187 Posts	Posted 04/06/2008 8:01 pm I have a 1988 proof set with a poorly struck S mint mark on the Roosevelt dime. At first glance it makes you think of an inverted number five. The top of the S is very weak and not complete. I don't have a camera good enough for a picture. Anyone else heard about this. I even purchased another 1988 proof set to compare,and there is a noticeable difference in the dime's mint marks. Any information will be appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

regularguy Valued Member United States 187 Posts	Posted 04/08/2008 8:06 pm I tried scanning with my scanner and all I get is blurr when I zoom in. My digital camera can't do it either. The mint mark on my 1988-S doesn't look like the one on the 1998-S. As I have mentioned in my first post, I have another 1988-S proof set and the mint mark on that dime is good.
